Ideas? Im running a non combat martial arts class for high school girls ,I need some more ideas.?
Grab a book by Wong Kiew Kit called "shaolin kung fu"

it has alot of good info you can take from it.

It its just for non-combat

you should focus on independence.

Young women who are independent, are less likely to be taken advantage of because they take care of themselves.

Something every woman could use regardless if they know it or not. Will power, would be a good one. How to overcome painful times through exercise. The fact that exercise teaches to overcome the pain to get results that are positive. Teaches that pain can be overcome. If you are teaching a non martial arts class, you should really already know this. I pity for you and the highschool girls. Just be glad its not the kids class like I help with. Argh.. those 5-10 year olds are a mess... They should be guided toward slowing down their thinking by forms, exercise, meditation, tai chi.. what ever... they need focus by looking at this moment and watching one step ahead. Self fufilling prophecies, exercise teaches to turn of the "I cant" and make the "I can"
Reply:Teach defense in harsh situations like assaults, rape, etc.
Reply:Self confidence and esteem, balance, muscle tone, fluidity in movement. If your idea of non-combat means this is not a self-defense course per se, than you may want to focus more on the mental maturity that can be -attained through meditation and concentration. The physical attributes of your program would be secondary to the psychological right? Other "Self's": -awareness, -assurance, -identifying, -empowerment, -enthusiasm, -enjoyment, and -assessment. Also creating Inner strength and developing some personal growth. Calmness of the mind in our hectic day to day lives...MINDFULNESS let me say it again, mindfulness!

Good Luck, I cannot imagine how much luck you will need to teach a bunch of high school girls.

PEACE
